LIVE WALK AWARENESS

Know when participating dog walkers may be nearby. Awareness is intended to provide context—not a guarantee that every walker or dog is shown.

DOG STATUS

Participating walkers can share useful context such as on leash, off leash, or reactive during an active walk.

COMMUNITY SIGHTINGS

Community observations may include dogs, coyotes, snakes, other wildlife, people or trail activity, hazards, and conditions.

TRAIL RESOURCES

Find community-reported waste bag stations, water stations, and other useful resources along the way.

BESTIES

People and dogs who already know one another may optionally see when a Bestie is walking and decide whether to meet.

PRIVACY FIRST

Location sharing is tied to an explicitly started walk. Users control when they begin and end active-walk sharing.

COMING TO PAXIMITY

Help bring lost dogs home.

Lost Dog Mode is being designed as a natural extension of Paximity’s awareness mission. A dog owner will be able to report their dog missing and alert nearby participating Paximity users, who may then be able to share community sightings and help the owner understand where the dog was last seen.

INTENDED TO BE FREE

Lost Dog Mode will be available as a free Paximity feature. Reporting a lost dog, receiving nearby lost-dog alerts, and submitting community sightings will not require a paid subscription.

Important: Lost Dog Mode uses community-reported information and approximate location data. Sightings may be delayed or inaccurate and do not guarantee recovery of a missing dog.

BUILT AROUND CHOICE

Location sharing only when you start a walk.

Paximity is designed not to begin an active walk merely because movement is detected. Precise raw GPS coordinates should not be intentionally displayed publicly to unrelated users.

Paximity is an awareness tool, not a safety system. GPS, connectivity, notifications, community reports, and coverage can be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. The absence of an alert does not mean an area is safe or empty.
